Brooklyn Pride Now Manifested in Mac 'n' Cheese Shop

This is Paula Deen's mac 'n' cheese. It will eat your face.

Much as Greenpoint has absorbed a sizable number of erstwhile Manhattanites, so too has it appropriated a phenomenon previously confined to the island: the all-mac 'n' cheese restaurant.

Greenpointers reports that Brooklyn MAC has opened on Norman Avenue. Like S'Mac on East 12th Street and Macbar on Prince Street (which we pitted against one another in a Battle of the Dishes), the place traffics solely in the curds 'n' carbs conglomeration. Except that its variations come with Brooklyn names. The Coney Island, for example, involves hot dogs, sauerkraut, and mustard, and American cheese. Though given recent events, perhaps it should be seasoned with salty tears and leave a bitter aftertaste redolent of woe and destruction.
