Tomorrow, Michael Huynh will enter the Asian taco fray with Chinito, a Vietnamese-Cuban restaurant located in his Huynh's old Bia Garden space at 154 Orchard Street.

The restaurant will have both a 55-seat dining room and a sit-down and takeout counter. Only the counter will open tomorrow, and it will serve a menu of Asian-Latin American mash-ups including a banh mi Cubano and a grilled Maya prawn with pomelo taco, as well as beer, sake, and sangria.

The main dining room, per a release, will open in "the coming weeks" with a menu that differs from the counter's. In the meantime, the counter will be open Sunday to Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Chinito's opening is but a prelude to more Huynh empire-building: Next year, he's planning to go west to Oakland, California, and then even farther west to Saigon.
