Donald Sacks Closes After 22 Years in the World Financial Center

Donald, sacked.
Donald Sacks, the first restaurant to open in the World Financial Center, has closed. The Broadsheet Daily reports that the restaurant, which opened in Lower Manhattan in 1983 and moved to the WFC in 1988, shut its doors this weekend.

Cause of death seems to be the landlord: Mario Porracchio, the restaurant's owner, said he was given "a bunch of contradictory stories about why they wouldn't renew the lease, but they all came down to us having to leave." Although Yelpers weren't too fond of the place, its happy hour drew a fairly steady clientele. Eater is reporting that Ed's Lobster Bar will take over the space, adding to its growing empire.
