Are Michael White and Chris Cannon Breaking Up?
As far as restaurateur-chef duos go, Chris Cannon and Michael White seem unstoppable. They are at the helm of Convivio, Alto, Marea, and the recently opened Osteria Morini. Now, Eater is reporting that the pair might be splitting.
Unhappy couple?
It's just a rumor (from supposedly "reliable sources"), and each one's publicist denies it, but Eater points out that separate PR companies is itself a telltale sign of trouble. Another tipoff: the two apparently seemed unenthused about posing together for the Eater Awards. Cannon, who went through an ugly breakup with chef Scott Conant, is said to be unhappy about ceding the spotlight to White, who is is getting an increasing amount of press and attention.
