Xiao Ye, Like Four Loko, Has Died
Fresh Off the Boat Eddie Huang sucks down the cause of Xiao Ye's demise.
Four months after it opened, Xiao Ye has closed.
The cause of death, according to Eater: Four Loko. Or, more specifically, the SLA raids that accompanied Eddie Huang's widely publicized Four Loko Thursdays. In addition to the initial raid, which followed the event earlier this month, Xiao Ye was reportedly the subject of three more during the subsequent weeks. Threatened with the loss of his liquor license, Huang decided to sell the restaurant and return to the Baohaus kitchen six days a week. Which means, among other things, that all of those changes he made to please his mom and Sam Sifton were for naught.
