7-Eleven Courts the Vegans

7-Eleven has proven itself a leader in the fight for equality, if equality means having the freedom to eat the same shit as everybody else: at some of its locations in Manhattan and Philadelphia, it is now selling vegan products.

The Daily News reports that those who shun all animal products will now have 24-hour access to artichoke spinach noodles, two kinds of dumplings, and vegetable lo mein.

Of course, Slurpees, Big Gulps, and a whole host of 7-Eleven products have always been vegan by default -- high-fructose corn syrup, sodium, and preservatives being typically animal-free -- so one could argue that 7-Eleven has long been an unintentional proponent of the lifestyle. Assuming, of course, one was once a high-school-aged vegan whose definition of "lifestyle" consisted entirely of potato chips, Coke, and cigarettes.
