Britain's Smaller Wine Bottles Won't Curb Drinking

A supermarket chain in Britain is beginning to sell smaller wine bottles to encourage people to drink less at home. Which seems like the stupidest idea ever.

Morrisons supermarkets are now selling 50 centileter bottles (1/3 smaller than regular 750 millileter wine bottles) because it's far too tempting for the consumer to drink the whole larger bottle, and this version will be "particularly suitable for couples." After all, sharing is caring.

Did they not see the movie Super Size Me? Clearly getting rid of large portions didn't curb obesity, and it won't stop binge drinking. And even worse, they're now enticing single people to drink the entire smaller bottle. So really, they're just reinforcing the same problem under another name. Way to go, Britain.
