Following his professional divorce from Michael White, Chris Cannon has won sole custody of Heather Bertinetti, the talented pastry chef whose desserts graced the menus of Marea, Osteria Morini, Convivio, and Alto. The Feast reports that Bertinetti will now oversee the pastry programs at Cannon's Alto and Convivio, where she's reportedly excited about being able to use non-Italian ingredients in her work (White had insisted on "Italian desserts verbatim") and embarking on her own projects, like a possible cookbook or bakeware line. No word yet on who will take Bertinetti's place, but Drew Nieporent is probably keeping a close eye on his staff.
