The Grill House on the boardwalk.

In the latest chapter of the sad saga unfolding on Coney Island, Ruby's Bar & Grill and the seven other boardwalk businesses evicted by Zamperla are now asking for a $2 million settlement from the developer. The businesses, the New York Post reports, believe that delaying the eviction process will force Zamperla to let them return in 2011. Although one assumes that there will be luge competitions in hell before Zamperla allows that to happen, here's hoping they're right. And if nothing else, Ruby's is still planning to hold a knock-down, drag-out protest on New Year's Day.
