Sam Sifton Rounds Up Best Restos, Dishes of 2010

Let the countdown begin ...
'Tis the season of roundups -- from best hangover cures to worst foodie gifts -- and even Times critic Sam Sifton isn't above repurposing a bit of content to give closure to the year that was 2010. Instead of a review this week, he rounds up his top new restaurants of the year, then tops it off with an entirely separate article describing his favorite dishes at those restaurants.

Among the nods are a poetic depiction of the garganelli with cream, truffle butter, and prosciutto at Osteria Morini; smoked crab Laksa at Fatty 'Cue; and Devil's Chicken at Torrisi Italian Specialties. Two of his favorite dishes of the year come from Del Posto, and he even gives props to Vandaag, the Northern European spot in the East Village that earned its share of praise this year, and Nuela, which did not. For Our Man Sietsema's best restaurants of 2010, tune in tomorrow.
