The Washington Post Pens a 'Dear New York Times' Letter Following Condescending Article on D.C. Eating Habits

Want fries with that, D.C.?
The Washington Post didn't take too kindly to The New York Times' recent article on junk food being all the rage on Capitol Hill. Apparently, behind this non-shocker of a trend piece were several thinly veiled digs at D.C.'s inferior dining scene, and the Post didn't want to let the offense go unmentioned. It rounds up other instances of Times condescension toward food in the Capitol, including calling the city a former "relative gastronomic backwater only 10 years ago," back in 1981; and in 1990, "about as provocative as a tax audit," when it comes to eating out. Ouch.
