It has been a bad, bad morning for East Village food concerns: A couple of hours before 6th Street Kitchen was badly damaged by a fire, a similar blaze occurred at East Village Farm & Grocery on the corner of Second Avenue and East 4th Street. According to DNAinfo, the fire started in the store at about 4 a.m. Fortunately, residents of the six-story building where the store is located were all evacuated safely; there's no word yet on the extent of the damage, but, as the above photo shows, it doesn't look good.
