Energy Kitchen Plans Nationwide Bison Burger Domination
Energy Kitchen, the "healthy" fast-food chain that operates 10 restaurants in the New York City area, is looking to take over America with its ostrich and bison burgers and plans to expand to a whopping 1,000 locations over the next 10 years.
Explains Randy Schechter, Energy Kitchen co-founder and vice president, in an interview with Retail Traffic: "We have 55 stores in development in Florida, Washington, D.C., Boston, White Plains, Long Island and Maryland. We are looking for major markets, with major foot traffic and upscale demographics. For example, in Florida, we are opening a store in Boca Raton. In Long Island, we are looking at places like Syosset. Real Main and Main type locations."
Their expansion strategy includes focusing on East Coast development this year before moving into Texas and Chicago. And then the world! Literally. The company is in discussions for stores in Canada, the U.K., and Dubai. Forget pork bellies, get your stock in ostrich meat.
