Jeffrey Chodorow and Kutsher's May Open Tribeca Deli

Kutsher's, the sprawling Borscht Belt resort that was the inspiration for Dirty Dancing, may be coming to Tribeca.

The Post reports that Jeffrey Chodorow is partnering with the Kutsher family to open a restaurant, tentatively called Kutsher's Deli, in the neighborhood.

The dining room at Kutsher's, which has stood in the Catskills since 1907, is completely kosher and supervised by a rabbi. It traffics largely in traditional Ashkenazi and Continental staples like kasha varnishkas, veal paprikash, and schmaltz herring. Chodorow will no doubt put his own Chodorific spin on them, but hopefully not in a Borough Food & Drink kind of way.
