Saro Gets the Word Out
We haven't been to Saro, the newish Balkan restaurant that moved into the old Tides space on Norfolk Street late last year. But while we can't comment on the food, we can commend the restaurant for its unusual approach to advertising. Signs like the one above have popped up around the Lower East Side, affixed to traffic signs and other vertical structures. They're just big and colorful enough to catch your eye and employ slightly random imagery that manages to be vaguely weird but kind of reassuring. Also, they're somewhat more tasteful than neon cardboard.
