Some Monday morning awfulness from East Williamsburg:

A 22-year-old worker at the Tortilleria Chinantla factory at 975 Grand Street was killed earlier today when he fell into a dough-mixing machine, the Times' City Room reports. The worker was pinned by the machine's powerful metal blade, and was unable to be saved by his co-workers.

Tortilleria Chinantla was established in Williamsburg in 1992 by Erasmo Ponce. Its products are distributed in 10 states in the Northeast, and it bills itself as "one of the most important producers in New York and its surroundings."
