Two Boots Coughs up a CBGB Slice

Although basil pesto isn't particularly synonymous with punk rock, Two Boots is using it to pay tribute to CBGB.
Per EV Grieve, the pizza chainlet is introducing the CBGB slice Friday afternoon at its Bleecker Street outpost. "Honoring the birthplace of punk rock and guitar legend Lenny Kaye," the $3.75 morsel will feature chicken, broccoli, garlic, and basil pesto -- "CBGB," geddit? Kaye will be in attendance for the proceedings, which start at 2 p.m.
Two Boots reportedly has more "indigenous pizzas" in the works. Presumably, they will also commemorate cultural institutions that now exist only as product tie-ins.
