Second only to the James Beard Awards in the amount of pomp, circumstance, and restaurant business they generate are Food & Wine's Best New Chef Awards. And this year, the magazine is taking a crowd-sourcing approach to its annual ritual with its introduction of a People's Best New Chef category.

From now until March 1, readers can vote for their favorite chefs across the country. Ten are nominated for each region. New York City is represented by Má Pêche's Tien Ho, ABC Kitchen's Daniel Kluger, Sorella's Emma Hearst, Aldea's George Mendes, Roberta's Carlo Mirarchi, Brooklyn Fare's César Ramirez, Dell'Anima's Gabe Thompson, and Torrisi's Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi.
