Foodily Is Being Called 'The Facebook of Food'

Friend your food.
Two unstoppable forces -- foodie-ism and social networking -- come together in a new start-up called Foodily.

According to Time's Techland blog, the new site offers a "comprehensive recipe and ingredient search engine with impressive social integration." It acts as an aggregator of content from sites like Epicurious, Food Network, and AllRecipes.com, which translates into millions of recipes. You can search not only by ingredient, but by lack of ingredient. Foodily also connects to your Facebook, which allows your friends to see the recipes you like and even lets you invite friends to dinner parties and potlucks, with a menu-sharing feature. The two Yahoo! alums who launched it say they plan to keep the site ad-free, but if every other social networking site is anything to go by, you can guess how long that will last.
