Pop-Up Peanut Butter 'Museum' to Open in Nolita

People are nuts for the stuff.
Here's a prediction: The next annoying foodie micro-trend will be peanut butter. Not only did Nation's Restaurant News recently notice that peanuts were popping up on menus around the country, but in the last two days alone we've heard about a deep-fried peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich at the forthcoming Rockography, superlative square doughnuts filled with peanut butter and jelly at the new Doughnut Plant in Chelsea, and a forthcoming peanut butter "museum" at the Openhouse Gallery on Mulberry Street.

The unfortunately named Nutropolitan Museum of Art is billed as a pop-up art gallery devoted to the PB&J. Peanut Butter & Co. collaborated with food photographer Theresa Raffetto and food stylist Patty White to create 365 takes on the staple. Prints of the sandwiches will be available for purchase and proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank for New York City. The pop-up will run from March 4 to 6, with the Van Leeuwen Ice Cream truck and Treats Truck parked outside on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
