The Treats Truck Bakery Hopes for a Summer Opening
When the Doughnut Plant announced yesterday that it would open its Chelsea Hotel store on Valentine's Day, our thoughts turned to Kim Ima, who told us last September that she was hoping to open her Treats Truck bakery in Carroll Gardens "around Valentine's Day."
Alas, it was not to be. Ima tells us that construction-related delays have pushed back her opening date, and she's now hoping to be in business by the early summer. In the meantime, the truck itself is still planning to celebrate Valentine's Day: Ima and her staff are hard at work making heart-shaped cookies and pink and red cupcakes for the occasion. And if you happen to be in Midtown this afternoon, the truck is at this very minute parked at West 45th Street and Sixth Avenue.
