What to Drink at Cienfuegos on Valentine's Day: Fuego de Pasion

Each week in The Daily Shot, we have ourselves a drink that we think you should try, too.

Fuego de Pasion: hot, hot, hot!
The drink: Fuego de Pasion

The bar: Cienfuegos, 95 Avenue A, East Village, 212-614-6818

The price: $38 for two people

The ingredients: Banks 5-Island Rum, Cognac, pineapple syrup, lime juice, chili-cumin syrup, and a Lambrusco top.

The buzz: "This drink is a valentine to spice," says its creator, Mayur Subbarao. "The tang of the pineapple syrup and clarified lime play off the spices and tingle in the Banks, and the heat lent by the chili-cumin syrup. It's a warming drink that's intended to spark the palate, and its chili fire and dark red color invoke Valentine's Day sensations." Sexy, huh? Indeed, what better way to get the love juices flowing this Valentine's Day than with a fiery drink for two. Even if you don't make a true love connection, you can always just let yourself get carried away by the heat of it all.
