There's no camouflaging family ties.
Making the news because of your exquisite cheekbones and ability to smolder in an apron made of organic fibers is fine and all, but not anywhere near as compelling as being the long-lost son of Ted Nugent.

Brooklyn Based today brings us the remarkably awesome story of Ted Mann, the Brooklyn restaurateur whose work includes Cubana Socíal, No Name Bar, Matchless, and Apartment 138. Mann is planning to open a South Slope beer garden and Bay Ridge deli this summer, but before that he's fitting in a hunting trip in Michigan with Nugent, whom he learned last fall was his biological father.

A musician and hunting/gun-ownership rights advocate, Nugent is responsible for albums like Spirit of the Wild, such tomes as Kill It and Grill It and God, Guns, and Rock 'n' Roll, and at least one VH1 series. Or, as Mann exclaimed upon learning Nugent was his father, "I was like, 'The guy who kills everything?'" The two subsequently enjoyed a family reunion at Nugent's Texas ranch, where, Mann said, "We ate elk and then we went and shot guns."

Whether Mann's new 13,000-square-foot beer garden will have a taxidermy theme is as yet unknown, but this is without a doubt one of the most heartwarming things we've read on a blog in quite a long while.
