David Burke Serves His Cheesecake Lollipops at 35,000 Feet

Room for improvement.
David Burke is no longer content to keep his empire bound to this earthly realm: Starting this month, the chef will be designing in-flight meals for Lufthansa

The New York Times reports that Burke is the latest chef to take part in Lufthansa's Star Chef program; alumni include Thomas Keller and Paul Bocuse. His food will be served to first- and business-class passengers on international flights out of Germany, who will get to chew over dishes like trio of duck breast and smoked tuna with citrus salad. Naturally, cheesecake lollipops will also make an appearance.

Burke, who was most recently seen opening David Burke Kitchen in the James Hotel, will be involved with the airline through April. His work isn't expected to affect coach passengers, who will as usual be busy scavenging roasted peanuts and contemplating cannibalism.
