Eat and Drink for Japan

Tonight from 6 to 8, 100 percent of proceeds at Mehtaphor will go to the Japanese Red Cross to benefit disaster efforts in Japan. But even if you can't make it to the restaurant, there are other places where you can put your appetites to more philanthropic use.

At Sushi Samba, the chefs have created a series of $12 Japan Relief rolls; 100 percent of their proceeds will go to the Red Cross.

Until March 20, 5 percent of all beverage sales at Megu will likewise go to the Japanese Red Cross's earthquake relief efforts.

According to Nobu's website, Nobu and Matsuhisa Restaurants Worldwide "will donate a portion of sales from a special omakase menu to a relief organization to help those in need."

And next Wednesday, March 23, EN Japanese Brasserie will host a fundraising concert and silent auction to benefit disaster relief efforts. Wynton Marsalis will be performing at the event, along with other as yet unconfirmed musicians. For ticket prices and more information, call the restaurant.

Also, Eric Ripert Tweeted earlier today that Le Bernardin "will be donating 100% profits from our 4 books to Japan relief." More information can be found on the chef's Facebook page.
