Larry King Enters Into Yet Another Union, This Time with Brooklyn Water Bagel Co.
Larry King is expected to boost the profile of the Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. as a new franchisee and spokesman for the small but growing bagel chain. Per Nation's Restaurant News, the notoriously suspendered and owlish former talk-show host opened the chain's fifth overall and first West Coast branch in Beverly Hills.
Brooklyn's King says there's something in the water.
The company, founded in 2009, claims to "Brooklynize" its water to make authentic New York bagels, using a 14-step process that purifies the water and adds minerals to reach pH levels like those found here in the Big Apple. It has high hopes for the endorsement from King, a native Brooklyner, and aggressive expansion plans that include some 200 new locations on the East Coast, as well as forthcoming New York pretzels and Italian ices.
