Leading lady Elizabeth Taylor.
Elizabeth Taylor, one of the last leading ladies from Hollywood's Golden Age of cinema, died yesterday in a Los Angeles hospital of congestive heart failure at age 79. We remember her with a clip from Cleopatra in which the actress and her co-star (and eventual husband) Richard Burton are entertained at a wine-soaked banquet.

Taylor was often associated with food, as she was known to overindulge. The Chicago Tribune points out that she was cited in The Oxford Companion to American Food and Drink for her "legendary demands for Chasen's chili" while on the set of Cleopatra. Legend has it that she had "buckets" of the stuff sent from the Los Angeles restaurant to the set in Rome. Click through for the movie clip.
