The Best Chocolate Cake in the World Spawns a Third Location

We weren't impressed with the Best Chocolate Cake in the World when it opened on Spring Street last July, but apparently others were. The store subsequently opened a second outpost in DUMBO, and, as of today, it now has a third on the Upper East Side.
The company's PR arm has announced that the chain's newest location is now open at 1046 Madison Avenue, between East 79th and 80th streets. In addition to the cake, which was created in 1987 by a Portuguese chef by the name of Carlos Braz Lopes, the café will serve sandwiches and empanadas, as well as Counter Culture coffee.
The store, it should be noted, is located perilously close to Lady M, which is possibly the most expensive and terrifying cake boutique in all of New York and human history. If (blue) blood and buttercream are spilled on Madison Avenue, you'll know why.
