Batali, Chang, and Colicchio Flash Their Mugs for Marriage Equality

Well, this is nice: Mario Batali, David Chang, and Tom Colicchio are showing their faces for a good cause.

The Human Rights Campaign, the national lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights organization, has recruited the chefs for its "New Yorkers for Marriage Equality" campaign. "We take no reservations at our restaurants, and I have no reservations about supporting marriage equality," Chang says. "We're known for great food in New York. Why can't we be known as a place for equality, too?" asks Colicchio. "Our current legislation towards marriage is a recipe for disaster!" proclaims Batali. Beats the hell out of signature footwear collection endorsements.

The phrase was a label for the particular facet of feminist empowerment embraced by the band: that a sensual, feminine appearance and equality between the sexes need not be mutually exclusive.
