Telepan TriBeCa Debuts Tonight

Not quite the same digs, but Bill's behind the burner.
Chef Bill Telepan is heading downtown tonight to launch an "unbuttoned version" of his flagship Telepan restaurant at Tribeca café Pecan (130 Franklin Street, 646-613-8296). And it's a good deal -- only $45 for a four-course tasting menu.

The pop-up restaurant will occur April 27 to 29, May 4 to 6, May 11 to 13, and May 18 to 20, and reservations won't be accepted. A coffee and sandwich shop might be an unlikely venue for the locavorish restaurant, but Jimmy Nicholas, Telepan's business partner, loves his neighborhood coffee shop. He's friendly with the owners, so he proposed it as a nighttime venue, and the rest is history. Yet another good reason to be friendly to your morning-coffee barista.
