Tonight, CB5 Will Hold a Public Hearing on the Fate of the Big Apple BBQ Block Party

babbp.png
Last month, two committees of Community Board 5 voted in favor of expelling the annual Big Apple BBQ Block Party from its home in Madison Square Park. Their beef, as it were, is that the event, which is organized by the Union Square Hospitality Group, is just too much for the park and its greenery to handle. If you have a opinion either way about the matter, then consider attending the public hearing that CB5 has scheduled for 6 this evening. Given the strong emotions surrounding the issue, it's sure to be an entertaining time.

If it gets decided that it is too much for the park to handle I REALLY hope they find a new place to have it!

What will happen to those folks who already bought fast passes for this year's festival?

It is too much for the park. They should take it to a bigger space.
