The White Horse on Hudson Street is one of the city's oldest bars, long associated with Dylan Thomas and other literary figures. The tables outside are incredibly uncomfortable.
Monday is usually a slack night in the restaurant industry, which is why the timing of this perfect spring day -- almost a summer day -- was so ideal for the establishments that had already wheeled out their outdoor furniture.
At 10:15 p.m., nearly all the West Village restaurants and pubs with outdoor seating were at least half filled, with patrons intent on extending the evening as long as possible: Rain and a drop in temperatures are expected tomorrow.
Organika Pizza and Vino on Seventh Avenue South -- does anyone know if it's any good?
