Monday is usually a slack night in the restaurant industry, which is why the timing of this perfect spring day -- almost a summer day -- was so ideal for the establishments that had already wheeled out their outdoor furniture.
At 10:15 p.m., nearly all the West Village restaurants and pubs with outdoor seating were at least half filled, with patrons intent on extending the evening as long as possible: Rain and a drop in temperatures are expected tomorrow.
