You Can Now See Florent: Queen of the Meat Market in Theaters

There's still a void where Florent once was, but beginning tonight, it will be filled a little bit, at least for a short time. A year after it hit the film-festival circuit, Florent: Queen of the Meat Market has come to Cinema Village. David Sigal's documentary is a portrait of Florent Morellet and the eponymous Meatpacking District diner he ran for 23 years before it fell victim to neighborhood gentrification in 2008. The Voice's Mark Holcomb calls it a "briskly paced, unselfconsciously edited celebration that matches the giddy vibe of its namesake," meaning you should see it while you can.
