Pulitzer Prize-winning restaurant critic Jonathan Gold will be reading tomorrow night at Housing Works Bookstore Café in Soho, along with experimental novelist Mark Z. Danielewski, surfer and writer Jamie Brisick, and Slake editors Laurie Ochoa (former editor in chief of LA Weekly and wife of Jonathan Gold) and Joe Donnelly (former editor of LA Weekly).

The reading is the first on-the-road manifestation of the literary journal Slake: Los Angeles, a quarterly founded in 2010 by Ochoa and Donnelly. Subscriptions will be available at the reading. Asked a few days before what he would be reading, Gold offered a one-word answer: "Spam."
