With Kiwiana, New York Will Have More Than Two New Zealand Restaurants

enzed.png
Aside from Nelson Blue and D.U.B. Pies, New York doesn't exactly have a surfeit of restaurants serving New Zealand cuisine. But the underrepresented country is about to get another shout-out, in Park Slope of all places.

Here's Park Slope reports that Mark Simmons, a New Zealand expat and Top Chef Season 4 survivor, is planning to open Kiwiana in the old Lucas Fine Foods space on Union Street. The restaurant will feature lamb and seafood, both of which New Zealand has in abundance. It's scheduled to open in August, which is winter in New Zealand but the perfect time to introduce Brooklynians to the wonders of hokey-pokey ice cream.
