Tia Keenan to Return With the Make Room

Tia Keenan is on the Make.
In September 2009, curd nerds throughout the city reacted with shock and dismay to the news that Tia Keenan had left Casellula. Called a "force to be reckoned with" by none other than Anne Saxelby, Keenan arguably put the Hell's Kitchen restaurant on the map thanks to her innovative pairings, which included everything from Big League Chew to miso-mustard pickles. In the wake of her departure, many wondered what she would do next. Now, we have an answer.

According to the website for the Second Annual Cheesemonger Invitational, Keenan -- who is creating an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord for the event -- is joining forces with Elizabeth Sayner to open the Make Room. Described as an "artisan cheese-focused restaurant," it promises to bring together "a new generation of artisan cheese makers, purveyors, designers, and craftspeople."

We contacted Keenan for further details, but right now, she's keeping mum. But if the Invitational website is to be believed, the place will open soon; when it does, expect fromage fanatics to make room in their schedules to stampede through its open doors.
