Il Laboratorio del Gelato Just Can't Quit Orchard Street

People's Pops isn't the only frozen-treats purveyor with expansion on its mind: Il Laboratorio del Gelato has also got some itchy feet -- or at least a case of homesickness. Bowery Boogie reports that the gelato shop is opening a satellite location in its original digs at 95 Orchard Street. The diminutive shop has sat vacant since Jon Snyder moved his operations to a capacious ground-floor space at 188 Ludlow Street last November. It should open in an approximately two weeks, which is good news for anyone who's ever sweated through a Tenement Museum tour in July.
