Klee Brasserie Will Close, Be Reincarnated as an Austrian Wine Tavern

Less than a month after replacing Brats: Dogs & Wieners with the Little Cheese Pub, Lori Mason and Daniel Angerer are closing Klee Brasserie, their five-year-old Austrian restaurant.

Grub Street reports that the couple will close the restaurant in July. They hope to reopen in the fall as an Austrian heuriger, or wine tavern. The reason for the shutter, Mason says, is that customers are spending less because of the economy. Perhaps so, but given our own experiences at Klee, we can't help but think that's not the entire story. Regardless, good luck to Angerer and Mason in their new endeavor.
