At LTO, Ayinde Howell Will Stage a Very Vegan Pop-Up

hellovegan.png
In recent weeks, LTO has been something of a haven for enthusiastic and fickle carnivores, with the likes of the Fattys, Leah Cohen, and Eddie Huang slinging meat from various corners of the globe in rapid succession. But now LTO is throwing the vegans a bone, as it were: From June 10 through 12, the space will host Wildflower, which bills itself as NYC's first plant-based pop-up.

Wildflower will showcase the cooking of Ayinde Howell, who will serve five meals over the course of the weekend. On his blog, i eat grass, Howell is described as a "lifelong vegan who started practicing yoga with his family at the age of ten." He's owned a vegan sandwich shop in Seattle, been the chef at the Jivamukti yoga school, and acted as a "food coach" for Miss New York 2010.

Next weekend, he will serve everything from a "contemporary American supper" to a Saturday Cajun brunch to a raw fusion dinner to a street-food tasting menu. You can see the American supper menu on Howell's website, along with a short video of the chef talking about his food. Tickets can be found here.
