Terroir Is Heading Uptown
Following its southern expansion to Tribeca, Terroir will soon be heading north to the frosty climes of Murray Hill. Terroir co-owner Paul Grieco told Grub Street that he'll be opening a third location of his East Village wine bar on Third Avenue and the low 30s this September. Expect 55 seats, the same "rambunctious" wine list, and a food menu that reflects the "terroir" of Murray Hill. ![]()

That terroir, Greico explained, refers to that of when the neighborhood was farmland and then an affluent Gilded Age enclave. Which is a relief, because when we think of Murray Hill's contemporary terroir, we think of stale beer and frozen yogurt.
