Terroir Is Heading Uptown

Following its southern expansion to Tribeca, Terroir will soon be heading north to the frosty climes of Murray Hill. Terroir co-owner Paul Grieco told Grub Street that he'll be opening a third location of his East Village wine bar on Third Avenue and the low 30s this September. Expect 55 seats, the same "rambunctious" wine list, and a food menu that reflects the "terroir" of Murray Hill.

That terroir, Greico explained, refers to that of when the neighborhood was farmland and then an affluent Gilded Age enclave. Which is a relief, because when we think of Murray Hill's contemporary terroir, we think of stale beer and frozen yogurt.
