This week, Fork in the Road transforms itself into the Big Gay Food Blog in commemoration of the 41st Annual Gay Pride March, which will be held this Sunday. For the next four days, we'll be interviewing gay chefs, ferreting out gay foodstuffs, and sashaying into gay restaurants.
Just what is a gay restaurant, you wonder? Well, we're not sure either! What we're certain of is that gay culture runs deep in the culinary milieu, and we've made it our objective to come up with some definitions of what constitutes gay cuisine -- having a good time and eating our asses off in the process.
The week will culminate bright and early Friday morning in Our 10 Best Restaurants for Gay Pride Weekend, which you may use as a guidebook to where you should eat brunch, lunch, dinner, and snacks late into the night. Remember -- without eating there can be no dancing. So, Happy Pride Week, one and all.
The Gay Liberation Monument by George Segal at Christopher Square, right across the street from Stonewall, is sometimes said to be the world's first openly gay sculpture. Whoever said that must have never seen Michelangelo's David.
