What to Drink at Brooklyn Star: The Dr. Pepper Cocktail

Each week in The Daily Shot, we have ourselves a drink that we think you should try, too.

The Dr. is in (this drink).
The drink: Dr. Pepper Cocktail

The bar: Brooklyn Star (593 Lorimer Street, Williamsburg, 718-599-9899 )

The price: $8

The ingredients: Gin, Dr. Pepper syrup, grapefruit juice, and soda.

The buzz: Joaquin Baca made quite a stir when he reopened the Brooklyn Star with none other than Dr. Pepper-slicked ribs on the menu. But why stop there? Dr. Pepper is meant to be imbibed, after all, so why not stick it in a glass with some booze and a soda top. The Dr. Pepper Cocktail comes out the color of Long Island Iced Tea and tastes like something you might have whipped up when your parents were out of town and the liquor cabinet was left unlocked. In other words, yummy, a bit silly, not exactly balanced (a bit too much grapefruit), but fun, fun, fun.
