Dish No. 74, Plus a Look Inside the New Dos Toros

Dish No. 74 in our countdown is the crispy carne asada taco at Dos Toros.

If you're accustomed to the cramped and tumultuous Dos Toros on Fourth Avenue, the new branch at Father Demo Square will tranquilize you. There are more than twice as many tables for eating in, plenty of room for the line to spiral around the dining space, and big picture windows with verdant views of the square.

The new interior is way more spacious.

The menu remains the same at this San Francisco-style taqueria, limited to tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and no-carb salads. My favorite remains the carne asada taco, a good wad of grilled steak in a tortilla that's been briefly crisped on the griddle with a slice of white American cheese inside. Guacamole is extra, but well worth it.

The interior offers diverting views of the square.
