Eataly to Colonize Our Nation's Capital

Now that Washington, D.C., has almost digested Shake Shack, it should start priming its collective gut for another New York export. As The Huffington Post reports, Joe Bastianich and Mario Batali are planning to open a branch of Eataly in our nation's capital by the end of next year, along with a previously reported location in Los Angeles. Apparently the biggest barrier to opening new locations is finding available space, but given all of Eataly's bombast, we're surprised it's not building itself a shrine on the National Mall.
