Eddie Huang Makes the Internet Go 'Round

BaoHaus 2 appears to be close to opening, and the Internet has once again taken note of Eddie Huang.

Metromix is convinced that "Huang's moment to shine is now," and today has a Q&A with the sort-of chef, sort-of media personality about his new 14th Street location. He explains that the difference between his two restaurants is that "the East Village one is a complete concept. The original Baohaus has [sic] really dope but most people couldn't have complete meals. It was more like a grab-and-go, like a slice shop. But now we have so many baos on the menu that you can't get bored." The new place will offer things like Taiwanese-style chicken patties and broccoli tempura.

It will also have "a great fucking bathroom" and a "Great Wall of Chinamen" mural. Eater has a photo of the latter.

Meanwhile, DNAinfo feels that BaoHaus's opening is one reason that East 14th Street between Second and Third avenues is becoming a "foodie haven." The other reasons include the imminent arrival of IHOP and the Meatball Factory, that place that intends to "shame" the Meatball Shop. Also nearby are Artichoke Basille's Pizza and a planned outpost of 5 Napkin Burger. We're not really sure if these places merit the designation of "foodie haven," but East 14th Street is certainly on its way to becoming an intoxicated-NYU-student haven.

Incidentally, BaoHaus appears to be hiring. And a trusted source informs us that Eddie Huang sneezed yesterday.
