Don't Expect Spinach Latkes at the Second Avenue Deli

"This is the standard of what a Jewish delicatessen is. People have come up to me and recommended going more gourmet on certain things. But it's not what a Jewish delicatessen is. I might get excited by a certain idea, but what we really are is an original, authentic NY delicatessen. We're setting the standards." --Jeremy Lebewohl, who opened the Upper East Side location of the 2nd Avenue Deli today, discusses his feelings about the recent proliferation of "trendy" Jewish delis with The Jew and the Carrot

It must have been the spinach latke!  I'm embarassed!!  In my NOTICE TO ALL!! I say that the "Midtown" 2nd Ave deli is on 33rd St... about a 1/4 block off  "Second Ave".  Iam  wrong.  It is about a 1/4 block - West--- off "THIRD" Ave.  (The people I see are over on Second Ave. looking for it.)
