Fleeting Signs of Summer: People's Pops at the High Line

While the People's Pops kiosk is located in the dark bowels of Chelsea Market, you can get the same products while strolling the High Line instead, near the 14th Street stairway. Most popular are not the original fruit-and-herb flavored faux-frozefruits, but the shaved ice, imitating a style of frozen confection that's been around the city more than a century. Fork in the Road has only one question: Where the hell do you get those big blocks of ice anymore?

Nice! Those "big blocks of ice" as you call it, are found easily... People use it to make ice sculptures... In my country we call this yunyun (don't know why). First time I see this method of shaving ice in NYC modern streets... They have awesome machines that do a better job...
