IKEA Is Hosting a Nordic Crayfish Party. Put On Those Elastic Pants!
Summertime eating might mean burgers and Popsicles to us Americans, but over in Sweden, a highlight of summer eating is the kräftskiva, or crayfish party, when the fair Nordic races consume bucketfuls of the bright red crustaceans, swilling them with aquavit. Well, you no longer have to go across the pond to enjoy a crayfish party of your own. This Friday, simply take the ferry to Ikea.

This Friday, the Swedish furniture store (and home to beloved meatballs) will be hosting an all-you-can-eat crayfish buffet for only $9.99 per person (a mere $2.49 if you're under 12). Seatings will occur from 4 to 6 p.m., 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and 9 to 11 p.m., but space is limited. Tickets are now available at the store's restaurant. Better start expanding that stomach. A $9.99 crayfish buffet is like putting black tar heroin in front of a junkie.
