The Upper East Side Will Get Its Second Avenue Deli on August 16

The Upper East Side's wait for an Instant Heart Attack is nearly over: After two and a half years, the 2nd Ave. Deli is almost ready to open its newest location.

Per Eater, the restaurant will open its doors on August 16 at the corner of First Avenue and East 75th Street with a traditional cutting of the salami links, known more colloquially as "Nickel Shtickel." The new place will serve the same menu as its East 33rd Street location, including the latkes that so underwhelmed us a couple of years ago. But while we consider the place to be one of the city's most overrated restaurants, the Upper East Side will undoubtedly welcome it with open arms and mouths.
