Dish No. 29: Habana Café's Elote

Even though we rarely have the time or desire to wait for a table at Café Habana, we're always game to stop by Café Habana To-Go for a $2.20 order of elote.

The ear of corn has been grilled and then liberally coated with mayonnaise, cotija cheese, and chili pepper. Even after being wrapped in foil, all of the good stuff stays put, clinging to the corn like barnacles to a whale. The corn kernels themselves are a bit chewy, but because they're really only there to transport glorious amounts of fat to your face, this is forgivable.

Cafe Haban to go is the greatest place ever. I wish I worked around there instead of FiDi. Their cuban sandwich is sooooo goooood.
